Soaks Bathroom shower trends

Your shower matters. We always go on about bathroom trends, how our bathroom looks, the colour scheme and decorative towels and utilities but this article is all about your shower.

You spend at least 10 minutes of your day in your shower so you want your shower to leave you feeling refreshed and at the same time make your bathroom look nice, sleek and modern.

Shower trends

It can be hard to keep up with some trends but at Soaks Bathrooms Belfast we have been keeping an eye out for the trends that have been floating around Belfast bathrooms this year.

A double or open plan shower has been a trend for a while now but we have noticed that more and more Belfast bathrooms have been installing a wider shower in their bathrooms. The double shower creates more room in your shower, allowing you to enjoy your shower with more room. The only downside is more space to fill with unnecessary hair and body wash that are half full.

These showers are so popular in Northern Ireland bathrooms that many people are opting to take out their baths to create the space needed for this trend.

Making a statement in your bathroom is a theme we have taken notice of this past year and we think it is here to stay. The easiest and most effective way to make a statement. Coloured tiles in your shower space can enhance the brightness of your bathroom and add a little aspect of fun. On the other hand matching your wall tiles within your shower to the tiles on your bathroom floor can create a seamless, chic look. Especially if you choose a more neutral colour palette.

Industrial style shower spaces are one of our favourite bathroom trends of 2021. You have probably seen at least one of these bathrooms this year as they have been very popular. With a mixture of ‘subway tiles’, hanging bulbs and a glass shower door in place of the classic shower curtain you can achieve that industrial look that many Belfast bathrooms aspire to have.

Shower Types

Your perfect bathroom cannot be complete without the perfect shower head. Power is key!

Rainfall Shower

The rainfall shower, also known as the mixer shower is definitely worth installing in your bathroom. Before now we would only find rainfall shower heads in fancy hotels but now they are everywhere. These shower heads are larger than the normal shower heads, hang directly over your head and come down like rainfall (hence the name). The only criticism these showers have is that they can't be moved or lifted off, this is why the ‘mixer’ shower head was created. By adding the classic shower head design to the rainfall shower you can have the best of both worlds.

Power Shower

Power showers are ideal for houses with low water pressure or if you just love an unplanned shower anytime of the day! These are the showers most people have in their homes. They are super easy to install and even easier to use. The key features of these showers are like a mixer shower they require hot and cold water supply, they are the best choice for good water pressure and there is no waiting around for them.

Digital Shower

Digital showers are a little more recent than power showers. These showers have taken shower technology to another level with their control system which tells you the water temperature and flow rate… things we didn't know we needed to know.

As they are fancier they are a bit pricier than other shower heads but if you are a sucker for new technology then this is the shower for you!
